The Danger of Identical Applications Part III
By Rodney Dodsworth – March 15, 2016
If the scenario outlined in Part II plays out, the uniparty apparatus will do in the future exactly what it has done in the past. These elites will not jeopardize their lock on power. They cannot under any circumstances allow the people via their states to meet in an Article V convention to reassert their sovereignty.
To prevent this occurrence it will be essential to keep the people uninformed of their God-given societal right to set the limits of THEIR government. Since, as president Obama remarked, everyone belongs to the government, it will be critical to keep radical ideas out of the people’s heads. The uniparty’s national media can be relied upon to keep quiet.
Yet, men and women in state legislatures are in the know. State legislators stand helplessly between their people and a burdensome autocracy in Washington, DC. They see the diktats coming down in torrents and the adverse effects they have on their communities and constituents.
The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) realizes that something must be done. At their website home page is a “federalism” tab. Several short pieces outline the central government’s wholesale neglect of the 10th Amendment. There is even a fill-in-the-blank Article V application.
So, the states dutifully comply with a Constitution that isn’t recognized, that isn’t in effect in Washington, DC. Despite the fact that hundreds of applications have been submitted, congress has not, and should not be trusted to call a convention – ever. Just as it is a waste of time to rationally argue a point with someone who disregards reason, so the states will continue to pound their political heads against an unmovable uniparty wall.
However, congressional disavowal of the people’s societal right to frame their government does not repeal the right. No man or multitude of men can steal that which is gifted by God.
To this end, to exercise the essence of our Declaration of Independence, the states should exercise through ALEC, the nation’s right and duty to form a federal convention for the purpose of amending the Constitution. No society requires the permission of the government of its creation to reestablish the Supreme Law of the Land.
Free Government, that happy condition wherein government respects and protects the unalienable, Natural Rights of the nation, and makes no law without its consent, is but a distant dream. No election alone can restore free government.
Meet in convention. Submit amendments to the states for their ratification or rejection. Whatever the outcome, our nation will know that its future happiness or misery is in its hands, and not in those of men and women who couldn’t care less.
There is nothing to lose and everything to gain.
