Congress proposed the 22nd Amendment limiting its neighboring branch, the Executive, to two terms of office. It was approved by the states in February 1951. What about Congresses term of office? Shouldn’t they also be limited? Will they limit their own terms of office? Except for a few who self-limit, no, they won’t voluntarily give up the taxpayer benefits of their offices.

It is up to We the People, authorized by the second clause in Article V, to propose an amendment to the Constitution to limit Congress’s time in DC. Let the states then decide, not Congress.
