The federal government loves word games. The Obama administration has stated repeatedly that the $400 million cash payment to Iran was not (definitely not!) a ransom. And yet, according to State Department spokesman John Kirby himself, the United States would not have released that money if Iran did not release its American detainees. “In basic English you are saying you wouldn’t give [Iran] the 400 million in cash until the prisoners were released, correct?” asked a reporter at Thursday’s State Department briefing. “That’s correct,” Kirby responded.

The attitude of federal officials is one of utter, complete disregard for the will of the people they’re supposed to serve. The feds don’t care if they’re caught in a lie because they know We the People can’t do anything about it.

That’s about to change. There’s a movement spreading across the nation to call an Article V Convention of States for the simple purpose of limiting the power and jurisdiction of the federal government. Our officials in D.C. need to be reminded that they’re there to serve us — not the other way around. And if they repeatedly abuse their power and mislead the American people, there will be consequences. Visitwww.conventionofstates.com for more information.
