In the late 19th century, Theodore Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson both thought of Progressiveness as being a large government composed of scientific experts who would tell Americans how to live. Wilson’s explained it was necessary, he said, because America’s voters were ignorant and stupid.
Whereas, the Founders drafted the US Constitution as being composed of a limited government controlled by We the People. Big difference.
